SLEEPING BAG FAQ'S
General Information
Maintenance & Care
Are the sleeping bags waterproof?
Our Wild Aspen sleeping bags are water-resistant. The durable micro-polyester shell is designed to repel light moisture and protect the insulation inside. For additional protection in wet conditions, you can use a waterproofing spray specifically designed for outdoor gear. However, it's important to ensure that your bag can still "breathe" to release water vapor while you sleep, preventing moisture buildup inside the bag.
Which sleeping bag will best fit my height?
To determine which Wild Aspen sleeping bag is right for you, consider both your height and overall comfort preferences. The Wild Aspen 0 and 20 sleeping bags are designed with a spacious mummy shape and built-out foot box to accommodate a wide range of users. For taller campers, these sleeping bags are generously sized to ensure a comfortable fit. Check the specific dimensions on the product page to ensure the best fit for your needs.
Do the sleeping bags have a pocket for my sleeping pad?
The Wild Aspen series does not feature a pocket for securing a sleeping pad. For added stability with your sleeping pad, consider using non-slip pads or straps to keep it in place while you sleep.
Does Klymit use responsibly sourced down feathers?
Yes we do. At Klymit we care about our environmental impact and only use responsibly sourced feathers in our down sleeping bags. For more information on the standards for responsibly sourced down, please visit http://responsibledown.org/
How do I store my sleeping bag?
We recommend storing your Klymit sleeping bag in a dry location inside a loose storage sack. While not in use, the storage bag protects your bag and gives it space to loft increasing the lifetime of the sleeping bag. Klymit sleeping bags should only be stored inside their compression sacks for short periods of time.
How should I wash my sleeping bag?
We recommend washing your bag in a front-loading washer. Never use an agitator-style machine as the motion can damage the stitching. Make sure to wash your sleeping bag on the gentle cycle in cool water with a down specific soap/gentle detergent.
To dry your sleeping bag, set your dryer on the no heat setting and check often. If it is too hot you will run the risk of melting the fabric on your sleeping bag. The fluff or tumble setting without heat is the safest way to dry your bag. When the bag is nearly dry, add two or three clean tennis balls or a pair of clean sneakers to the dryer. This will help break up any clumps in the bag and will help to restore the loft. Make sure your bag is thoroughly dry before placing it in its storage bag.
What do I do if I have lost/damaged the stuff sack for my sleeping bag?
Our sleeping bags have a 2 year limited warranty. If you are past the 2 year warranty, you can purchase a new compression sack for your sleeping bag by contacting our customer service team at support@klymit.com.
Is it normal for my sleeping bag to leak feathers?
If the feathers are not coming from a hole in the fabric or a loose seam, and your bag is only losing a few feathers with each use, that is normal. The down is soft and fluffy while the feathers have a stiff stem at the center. This stiff stem can at times make its way through the fabric.
